Serbs become disillusioned with Trump

The people commenting us, simply do not know Serbs and our mentality. We are not disillusioned by Trump, cause we've had no illusions, in the first place... Everyone who has been following polls on Trump in Serbia could see two stances. The first one, was an undivided wish for Donald Trump to win the Elections in US. Russia and Serbia, were the only two European states supported Trump, and it was not a close call, but the vast majority, more than 90%! However, the question "Are you expecting an improvement of American policy toward Serbs, with Trump as the new President?", was answered "No!", by vast majority of Serbs, as well. Serbs are not simple people! We are the biggest Nation between Vienna and Constantinople. The only one that has a vision, and ability to unite all the South Slavs in one Great South Slavic State. According to Patrick Besson, Serbs are the only political Nation at the Balkans. Consequently, we have no illusions about Trump and the USA. We do not have, and we have never had! However, the choice was Trump or the war criminal Clinton, and that's no choice for Serbs. In a sentence ... We ain't expect sh*t from anyone from NATO aggressors and occupiers! ... but .... let's hear something from the people who understand nothing .... |
The Story Goes On ... |
Trump had been praised by some Serbian politicians and media when he defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016 elections.
A tabloid had published Trump’s poster; another had leased billboards in Belgrade congratulating him. A shoe factory owner from Banja Luka sent Trump’s wife Melania special pumps. And all this was done with the expectation that the new US president would “promote Serbian interests” – in contrast to Hillary Clinton who presumably would not, but rather follow Bill Clinton’s and his successors’ course.
Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic was among those who were speaking about the big changes that Trump’s victory would bring to the world, including Serbia.
Now, it seems that these dreams have dispersed. The best evidence of this is today’s front page of the Informer, the leading Serbian tabloid, which supports the current Serbian government. “Trump Shiptar”, its headline read. “Shiptar” is a Serbian pejorative term for Kosovo Albanians
OK, let's learn something ....
"Shqiptar" is not a Serb's pejorative term for "Kosovo Albanians", but it's a Serb's term for ALL "Albanians", and it's NOT pejorative. Shqiptars call themselves Shqiptars, as well as their state Shqipnia. Tito's commies "invented" the phrase "Albanians" from various political reasons I'm omitting to elaborate here, at the beginning of 70's, forcing everybody in Yugoslavia to call Shqiptars - Albanians. All of the sudden "Shqiptar" became pejorative, and nationalistic "outburst", punishable by commy's law! So, you ignorant Serb's situation "connoisseurs", U GOTTA READ, BEFORE U WRITE!!! - comment LG.
Back in November 2016, Informer leased billboards praising Trump’s triumph over “anti-Serb” Hillary.
The Blic daily reports about Trump’s “slapping Serbia on the face”. But Kosovo’s parliament speaker Kadri Veselji stresses that his meeting with the American president wasn’t a slap for Serbia. “This was rather a message for Serbia that it should behave in a different manner”, he told Lajmi, Kosovo newspapers in Albanian.
Finally, Matthew Palmer, State Department official who recently visited Belgrade, said in an interview that the US remain interested in the Balkans. He denied Serbian tabloids reports that Trump and Russian president Vladimir Putin have agreed “influence zones” under which Serbia would be part of the Russian domain.
Such ideas “sound like speculative fiction”, Palmer said.
